Annual Events

The Development Department is responsible for coordinating all special events and presentations planned by the Mayor and Town Council. In addition, this department is the contact for outside groups that wish to hold special events on Dauphin Island such as mystic orders holding Mardi Gras parades and social events and different groups planning to hold fishing rodeos.

The Mayor and Town Council coordinate activities with the Chamber of Commerce and the Property Owners Association as a part of the Development function to advertise and increase tourism. With donations for businesses and individuals make a large fireworks display possible form  the 4th of July celebration.
